Abstract

If we look at the current status of import-export relations between India and Nepal, the bilateral trade between them has increased from USD 5898.72 million in 2016 to USD 7436.26 million in 2020-21 in the last 5 years, but this the period has seen good growth in the beginning and decline in the last two financial years. which is shown in the above table. India has a huge advantage in India Nepal trade. On an average, India exports to Nepal about ten times of what India imports from Nepal. Hence the balance of trade is in favor of India. If we look at the exports by India to Nepal in the year 2016-17, then this figure is 5053.59 million USD and in the same financial year, India's import from Nepal has been seen only 445.13 million USD. The figure of exports to Nepal has increased to USD 6765.93 million in the last five financial years. In spite of this total growth, it is necessary to note that in the last five years it has shown good growth in the initial period but in the last two financial years it has shown negative growth. Similarly, India's imports from Nepal have also increased from USD 445.13 million to USD 670.33 million in the last five years. But it has seen tremendous ups and downs in different financial years. Overall, it can be said that in the situation of international trade between India and Nepal, the effect of corona epidemic is also reflected in the international relations between these countries.

भारत व नेपाल के संबंधों के बीच यदि आयात निर्यात की वर्तमान स्थिति को देखे तो पिछले 5 वर्षाे में इनके मध्य द्वीपक्षीय व्यापार 2016 में 5898.72 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर से बढकर 2020-21 में 7436.26 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर पहुच गया परन्तु इस अवधि में शुरू में इसमें अच्छी वृद्वि तथा अन्तिम दो वित्तीय वर्षो में कमी देखी गयी है। जिसे उपरोक्त तालिका में दर्शाया गया है। भारत नेपाल व्यापार में भारत का पलड़ा भारी है। औसतन भारत द्वारा नेपाल से आयात का लगभग दस गुणा भारत नेपाल को निर्यात करता है। अतः व्यापार संतुलन भारत के पक्ष में है। सन 2016-17 मेें भारत द्वारा नेपाल को निर्यात को देखे तो यह आकड़ा 5053.59 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर है एवं इसी वित्तीय वर्ष में भारत द्वारा नेपाल से आयात मात्र 445.13 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर देखा गया है। पिछले पांच वित्तीय वर्षो से नेपाल को निर्यात का आकड़ा बढ़कर 6765.93 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर पर पहुच गया। इस कुल वृद्धि के बावजूद भी यह ध्यान देना आवश्यक है कि पिछले पांच वर्षो में शुरूआती काल में इसमें अच्छी वृद्धि अंाकी गयी परन्तु अंतिम दो वित्तीय वर्षो में इसमें ऋणात्मक वृद्धि देखी गयी। ठीक इसी प्रकार भारत द्वारा नेपाल से आयात भी पिछले पांच वर्षाे में 445.13 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर से बढ़कर 670.33 मिलियन यू.एस.डाॅलर पहुच गया है। परन्तु अलग-अलग वित्तीय वर्षो में इसमें जबरदस्त उतार-चढाव देखे गये है। कुल मिलाकर यह कहा जा सकता है कि भारत व नेपाल के मध्य अन्तराष्ट्रीय व्यापार की स्थिति में इन देशों के मध्य अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय सम्बन्धों के साथ साथ कोरोना महामारी का प्रभाव भी परिलक्षित होता है।
