Abstract

Among contemporary Hindi fiction writers, Shivmurti stands out as a prominent and powerful voice whose works reflect the depth and sensitivity of social life. His writings clearly exhibit the development of social consciousness. Shivmurti’s fiction presents an authentic portrayal of the struggles of all sections of society, depicting the hardships of the destitute, oppressed, and victims of injustice and social inequalities. His stories and novels convey a profound sense of human sensitivity and empathy toward marginalized people. The struggles, sorrows, and dreamy hopes of his characters are depicted effectively. His stories like Banana Republic and Kucchi ka Kanoon offer invaluable examples of social awareness. Shivmurti’s literature highlights social change and guides readers toward a new society founded on equality and humanity. Thus, the development of social consciousness in Shivmurti’s work is not only a significant literary contribution but also an effort to promote social awareness.

Abstract in Hindi Language: हिन्दी साहित्य के समकालीन कथाकारेां में षिवमूर्ति एक अग्रणी व सषक्त हस्ताक्षर है, जिनके साहित्य में सामाजिक जीवन की गहराई व संवेदनशीलता नजर आती है। उनकी रचनाओं में सामाजिक चेतना का विकास स्पष्ट नजर आता है। शिवमूर्ति के कथा साहित्य में समाज के सभी वर्गों के संघर्ष, विपन्न, दीनहीन, शोषित, अन्याय और सामाजिक असमानताओं का हूबहू चित्रण मिलता है। शिवमूर्ति की कहानियों व उपन्यासों से निहित कथानक में मानव की संवेदना व समाज के हांसिये के लोगों के प्रति सहानुभूति दिखाई देती है। उनके साहित्य में निहित पात्रों का संघर्ष, दुःख और उनकी स्वपनिल आशाओं का प्रभावी चित्रण किया गया है। उनकी कहानी ’बनाना रिपब्लिक’ व ’कुच्ची का कानून’ में सामाजिक चेतना के अनमोल उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किये गये हैं। शिवमूर्ति का साहित्य सामाजिक परिवर्तन को रेखांकित करता है और पढने वाले को एक नवीन समाज की ओर अग्रेषित करता है। जहां समानता व मानवता की भावना हो। इस प्रकार शिवमूर्ति के साहित्य में सामाजिक चेतना का विकास न केवल उनका साहित्यिक अवदान है अपितु सामाजिक जागरूकता का भी प्रयास है।
