Religion and its usefulness in Jainendra's literature

Abstract

There is no description of the grossness of religion in Jainendraji's literature. There is no specific global depiction of any religion in the form of temporality or limitedness, but the basic form and supreme essence of religion which has been indicated is eternal and the society can get inspiration from it along the right path. His idea is that a person should become religious and meet the universe and on this basis responsibilities and duties should be fulfilled. In this regard, in the words of Anam Swami, he says, “The supreme religion is the total immersion of the individual in the universe. Considering it as the pole, the questions of other worldly responsibilities and duties can be understood and opened only by expecting it.

Abstract in Hindi Language: 

जैनेन्द्रजी के साहित्य में धर्म की स्थूलता का वर्णन नहीं है। लौकिकता या सीमाबद्धता के रूप में किसी धर्म विशेष जागतिक चित्रण नहीं हैं, परन्तु धर्म के जिस मूलरूप एवं परमतत्त्व का संकेत किया गया है, वह चिरन्तन है और उससे समाज को सद्मार्ग के साथ प्रेरणा प्राप्त हो सकती है। उनका विचार है कि व्यक्ति धार्मिक बनकर सृष्टि से मिले और इसी आधार पर दायित्व और कत्र्तव्य का निर्वाह हो। इसी सम्बन्ध में अनाम स्वामी के शब्दों में वे कहते हैं, “परमधर्म व्यष्टि का समष्टि ़मेें सर्वांग विसर्जन है। इसको धु्रव मानकर इसकी अपेक्षा से ही दूसरे ऐहिक दायित्व और कर्तव्य के प्रश्नों को समझा और खोला जा सकता है।
